Roberto Z.

My name is Roberto Zeledon and I’m the Senior Director of Marketing at Year Up. I was a Marketing major in college with a minor in Psychology and I always remember being drawn to the psychology of brands and why people choose one product over another. I translated that interest into a career in marketing for large, national brands onto my current path at Year Up. Early on in my career, I had a manager, now a mentor, who taught me that the tiniest of details in the work we create can have the biggest impact. He was so meticulous and extremely proud of any creative we built whether it was a short email, or a multi-million ad campaign. My year up was his teaching me this love for marketing in the details and more importantly, to take pride in any work I am involved with. And I’ve been able to apply that philosophy and appreciation for the little things to my personal life. My advice to someone starting their career is to do the same. Find what you love and pay the closest attention to the smallest of details. There is a John Wooden quote that reads, “It’s the little details that are vital. Little things make big things happen.”
